In my free time, I enjoy exploring cinematography and have created numerous projects using iMovie to bring my creative visions to life.

My
hobby

Hi, I'm Susmitha Gaikwad, and I've been passionate about cinematography since middle school, where my journey began with a simple curiosity for capturing moments on camera. Inspired by the magic of storytelling through visuals, I started experimenting with iMovie, creating projects that allowed me to express my creativity. Over time, I delved into watching tutorials and learning techniques to improve my skills, from finding the perfect angles to enhancing video quality. For me, cinematography is more than a hobby - it's a way to tap into my creative side and turn everyday moments into something extraordinary, all while having fun along the way.

MY TOOLS

1

Using iMovie

I began my editing journey with iMovie, a tool that sparked my passion for cinematography. Its intuitive interface allowed me to experiment with basic editing techniques, such as trimming clips, adding transitions, and incorporating music to tell a story. Over the years, I've mastered its features to create polished projects, from personal travel videos to creative short films. iMovie's simplicity and efficiency make it my go-to software when I need to turn raw footage into something visually appealing and cohesive quickly. It's the perfect tool for bringing my creative visions to life while still keeping the process fun and engaging.

Using Adobe Premiere Pro

As my skills grew, I ventured into Adobe Premiere Pro to take my editing capabilities to the next level. Premiere Pro's advanced tools have allowed me to fine-tune my projects, from color grading to complex transitions, giving my videos a more professional touch. I enjoy experimenting with layered timelines and effects to create dynamic and visually captivating content. While the software requires more technical know-how, it has pushed me to expand my creativity and storytelling techniques. Whether working on a detailed project or refining a cinematic sequence, Premiere Pro has become essential to my toolkit.

Using Cameras and iPhone Cinematic Mode

When capturing footage, I enjoy using a mix of tools to suit different projects. I often rely on my iPhone's cinematic mode, which offers incredible depth-of-field effects and crisp visuals, making it ideal for on-the-go shoots. For more intricate projects, I switch to cameras, which give me greater control over settings like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. This versatility allows me to experiment with angles, lighting, and composition to capture the exact mood I'm aiming for. Whether it's a quick handheld clip on my iPhone or a carefully planned shot with a camera, I love the creative process of capturing moments and turning them into compelling stories.
